Mineral fl exible adhesive intended for bonding styrofoam (EPS boards), graphite styrofoam, EPS G boards as well as mineral wool boards (MW boards) to solid facade surfaces, as well as for embedding the reinforcement mesh and for leveling the entire facadesurface. BKStirolFix 1 is used as an adhesive for bonding and as a base coat, i.e. adhesive for reinforcement within both BEKATHERM thermal insulation systems (BEKATHERM Standard system with EPS thermal insulation boards and BEKATHERM Prestige with MW boards).

Preparation and application :

The substrate to which the adhesive is applied must be solid, clean, durable, and free from efflorescence, oil residues, or paint. Smooth, poorly absorbent concrete surfaces with residual dirt from the formwork must be cleaned using a hot water jet and then primed with BK-BetonKontakt. It is not necessary to apply a primer to new brick walls. When bonding panels to walls made of aerated concrete, it is recommended to coat them with BK-Nivelator according to the instruction manual. The preparation is done by adding the powder to approximately 26-28% water (6.5-7 liters of water for 25 kg of product) until fully homogenized. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes, then stir again to achieve an adhesive with the right consistency. The prepared adhesive is applied to thermal insulation boards (along the entire perimeter of the board and dotted in the middle), and then the boards are pressed onto the substrate. For reinforcement, the adhesive is applied with a notched steel trowel (tooth size 8-10 mm) on the dust-free styrofoam surface. The reinforcing mesh is then pressed into the adhesive from the bottom up, ensuring a minimum overlap of 10 cm between the mesh strips. Once dry, the entire surface is leveled with a new layer of adhesive, so the total thickness of the final adhesive layer is 4-5 mm. The adhesive should be protected from premature drying and freezing. When bonding MW boards, the entire surface of the board must be coated with a thin layer of adhesive. The adhesive is then applied along the entire perimeter of the MW board, with three additional points in the middle. Follow the same instructions as mentioned for EPS board bonding for further steps. Technical data :

Substrate and air temperatures from +5°C to +30°C. Possible to embed reinforcement mesh: after min. 48 hours. Possible to apply fi nishing coats: after min. 7 days.

Consumption :

About 5-6.5 kg/m² for bonding and about 5-7 kg/m² for leveling, depending on the quality of the substrate, the type of thermal insulation material used, etc.

Expiration date and storage :

12 months in original packaging in dry room on pallets.
