The goal of the conference was to identify key economic and social challenges, as well as directions for creating a productive and socially just community through dialogue among employers, representatives of the Republic of Srpska Government, academia, and companies. The conference included four panel discussions on various topics, one of which was "Human Capital in the Era of Automation and Digitalization."
Discussing this important topic were Ivan Radukanović, HR Director at Bekament, Dr. Zoran Stojiljković, professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade and president of the Independence Union Serbia, Dejan Jokić, Executive Director for Finance at m
, and Predrag Zorić, President of the Employers' Association of the Metal Industry and Director of Kolektor CCL, Laktaši. The panel featured diverse opinions and reflections on whether digitalization and automation present an opportunity or a challenge, whether and how the education system is being reformed in accordance with the times, and the role of employers in human resource development. Panelists also discussed whether innovation and motivation are the paths to quality jobs.
On this occasion, Ivan Radukanović stated in his presentation: "In an era of high staff turnover, we at Bekament strive to maintain an optimistic attitude and work proactively, systematically interviewing and building a pool of potential employees. With this approach, we try to recognize talent, respond quickly when vacancies arise, and find the right candidate for a given position. At Bekament, we are also continuously working on automating and digitalizing our work processes with our employees, which provides greater flexibility and resilience to staff changes. Through new technologies, we have managed to reduce overtime hours for our employees, allow them more personal time, and at the same time increase their salaries due to lower product costs resulting from higher productivity."
